The world doesn’t need income tax, claims John McAfee

Colourful crypto evangelist John McAfee has claimed the world doesn’t need income tax.

In fact, it would be abolished under his presidency should his campaign for control over the White House be successful next year.

In an exclusive interview with Coin Rivet, the 73-year-old states that, under his Libertarian Party, the US would ditch income tax, and he would urge other world leaders to do the same.

“In America, prior to the Civil War, we had no income tax – we survived fine,” he says.

“There are a thousand ways to vastly improve our country and our government with no taxes.

“Road use – we have millions of miles of roads in America. What if we pay based on the use of the roads? Why should someone who never uses them have to pay the same as someone who does a million miles a year?

“That would generate enough revenue to pay for everything.”

No intention

Asked about his presidential campaign and the idea that, although he intends to run for office, he has no intention of being the President of the United States of America.

“It doesn’t matter who is President,” he responded.

“Think about it. Even when someone becomes president you lose all of your power – you have thousands of little strings attached to you by members of your party, people who’ve donated and the power structure that already exists.”

He added that he felt both the major political parties of the US were also to blame for destroying each other’s work.

“If you look at the last 50 years in America… Republican, Democrat – whatever the Republicans put together, the Democrats dismantled it, and vice versa,” he said.

“Look at the wasted effort under the Obama administration – trillions of dollars creating Obama Care, and what did the Republicans do? They dismantled it. That’s insanity!

“If our system allows things of that nature to happen then it’s insane, so I don’t want to work with it, but I do want to use my right to the national stage to say what I’ve just said.”
