John McAfee, the outspoken cryptocurrency advocate, has revealed a new partnership with crypto exchange CoinBene while renewing his call for a boycott against HitBTC.
McAfee announced the alliance at the Blockchain Cruise conference on Monday night. His anti-corruption organisation McAfee Alliance is teaming up with CoinBene to “fight against corruption” in the cryptocurrency market.
The computer programmer also revealed Team McAfee will guarantee a free listing on CoinBene to anyone willing to delist from HitBTC.
McAfee has been targeting the crypto exchange for several months, claiming it wields too much power and “has increased suffering for millions of poor people who cannot afford the minimum buy-in”. The exchange charges 0.0006 BTC on each deposit, irrespective of the type of cryptocurrency, which is the equivalent of £2.90.
McAfee recently called for a boycott of HitBTC, saying he will be the exchange’s “worst enemy until you prove that you are aligned with our community and are truly interested in helping the poor”.
Announcing the new alliance on Twitter, CoinBene said: “We held a press conference beside @officialmcafee and @McAfeeExecutive last night. @CoinBene officially announced our new alliance partnership with @mcafeealliance and @Team_McAfee to fight against corruption in crypto market! For infos follow @McAfeeAlliance @AgainstCorruption.”
McAfee Alliance tweeted: “Stop trade @hitbtc today! Immediately delist from Hitbtc for a promised free listing on a better exchange!!”
