Nikol Szymul staffs a reception desk at Amazon offices in downtown Seattle. Online retail powerhouse Amazon is searching for a second headquarters location, which an official from Toronto has called "the Olympics of the corporate world."
Amazon is seeking a ‘Digital Currency and Blockchain Product Lead’ as part of plans to bring its payments systems into the crypto space.
The position will be based in Seattle and the successful applicant will work within Amazon’s Payments Acceptance & Experience team.
According to the official job posting, the company is searching for “an experienced product leader to develop Amazon’s digital currency and blockchain strategy and product roadmap”.
“You will leverage your domain expertise in blockchain, distributed ledger, central bank digital currencies and cryptocurrency to develop the case for the capabilities which should be developed, drive overall vision and product strategy, and gain leadership buy-in and investment for new capabilities,” the posting continued.
The company added the person will work closely with teams across Amazon including AWS to develop the roadmap including the customer experience, technical strategy and capabilities, as well as the launch strategy.
