Coinbase launches retail trading for Ethereum token 0x

Retail customers can buy, sell, send, receive and store Ox (ZRX) along with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Litecoin.

The token is supported at Coinbase.com and in the Coinbase Android and iOS apps, but it is not currently available for residents of the UK or the state of New York.

The announcement comes just a week after Coinbase listed ZRX on its professional trading platform Coinbase Pro, enabling trading on the ZRX/USD, ZRX/EUR and ZRX/BTC order books.

“One of the most common requests we hear from customers is to be able to trade more assets on Coinbase,” says Dan Romero, Vice President and General Manager of Coinbase Consumer.

Last month, the company revealed a new asset listing process to enable it to expand the range of assets traded on its exchange. Listings are now added in a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction manner to ensure compliance with local law, meaning some new assets may only be available to customers in certain countries.

It also said it would invest in tools to help people understand and explore cryptocurrencies. To that end, it has now created an information page on ZRX.

Coinbase announced earlier this year that it intended to add support for ERC-20 tokens.
